Tank Abbott and Gracie's pull out

I think there should really be some sort of discussion on how this was sort of the night that Tank Abbott made his big impact. Also this is the first UFC without Royce Gracie. I love the fact that someone is finally doing all the UFC PPVs.

  • Your welcome! :) I haven't seen the event myself, so I'm not that informed of Tank Abbott's impact from here on out. So feel free to add any information yourself. But the UFC 5 article does discuss the Gracie's departure from UFC, but a quick mention could be made. Smoltz 09:23, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Final match

"Taktarov wins the UFC 6 Tournament by submission (rear naked choke) at 3:01 of the first round."

What??? I have this fight on DVD and it was about 17 minutes. Abbott was nearly choked unconscious after about 3 minutes but slipped out of it. This might be a good excuse to watch this DVD again.

Yeah, you are correct - according to Sherdog.com's results page for UFC 6 [1] Taktarov wins by RNC at 17:45. Not sure how that made it in, but I'll go over all of the UFC resuts pages and double check them with Sherdog. Skeletor2112 04:53, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There were no rounds

The event had no rounds, why does every match description mention "first round"?

NWA World Heavyweight Championship

Should we mention that Severn came out with both the UFC Belt and NWA Belt? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.124.4.220 (talk) 21:53, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Patrick Smith

Patrick Smith withdrew due to stomach cramps; it had nothing to do with the fight beforehand. The commentators made special mention of this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.197.217.20 (talk) 18:45, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
