Path largely cleared for CA 58 in Bakersfield

Between the end of the CA-58 stub west of CA-99 and the Westside Parkway, buildings in the apparent right-of-way of a realignment of CA-58 (including houses and businesses) seem to have been demolished. Only one remains in place, and an update on the progress of building CA-58 (future Interstate 40?) as a connector to Interstate 5 would seem to be approaching construction. News articles to that effect might be worth accessing. Pbrower2a (talk) 17:02, 2 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Related to this; today I drove south on SR 43 and turned east onto Rosedale Hwy through to SR 99 and I did not see any SR 58 signage anywhere. Has SR 58 been officially rerouted? Google Maps needs updating. Mcsew2k (talk) 05:54, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Signage has been updated on I-5, exit 257 is now marked as westbound SR 58/Buttonwillow only, motorists seeking eastbound SR 58 to Bakersfield are now directed to exit 253 (Stockdale Hwy) in anticipation of rerouting. Silent_status (talk) 06:03, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
