Shelby Pierson is the first election security "czar" in the United States. She was appointed by Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats in July 2019.[1][2][3]

Pierson was crisis manager for election security during the 2018 midterm elections. According to Homeland Preparedness News, she has 20 years of intelligence experience.[4]
