Stephanie Ann Davis is an English actress. She has appeared on various British television shows.
Davis came to public attention when she competed in the 2010 BBC talent-search Over the Rainbow. She was then cast in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks as Sinead O'Connor, playing the role for five years until her contract was terminated by producers. In 2016, she appeared on the seventeenth series of Celebrity Big Brother, where she finished the series as runner-up.
Career
Davis began her career as a child actress. She secured the role of Gretl von Trapp in the Liverpool Empire Theatre's production of The Sound of Music when she was eight years old. Two years later, she played the title role in the theatre's production of Annie and later as Little Nell in Her Benny.[1]
Davis appeared in a number of minor television roles, including appearances in Holby City, Doctors and Parents of the Band. In 2010, Davis took part in Over the Rainbow, a BBC talent-search looking for an actress/singer to play Dorothy Gale in Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of The Wizard of Oz. She advanced to the fifth week, whereupon she was voted off following a sing-off against Stephanie Fearon.
Following her appearance in Over the Rainbow, Davis went on to be cast as Sinead O'Connor in Hollyoaks. Originally slated to appear in late August, Davis made her Hollyoaks debut on 1 September 2010.[2][3] On 16 July 2015, it was announced Davis' contract had been terminated.[4] Her agent confirmed that she was fired from the job because she arrived on-set "unfit for work".[5]
In November 2015, Davis signed up to appear on the fifteenth series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. She had to pull out of the show one day prior to it commencing because of a potentially fatal nut allergy.[6] In January 2016, Davis appeared on the seventeenth series of Celebrity Big Brother as a contestant, eventually finishing the series as runner-up.[7] Her time in the house was controversial, due in part to her protracted affair with fellow housemate Jeremy McConnell.
Personal life
Davis grew up in Liverpool. She has two younger brothers.[8] She attended De La Salle School, St Helens.[1]
Davis has previously dated Charlie Clapham,[9] Sam Reece, and Jeremy McConnell.[citation needed]
In January 2017, Davis gave birth to a son Caben.[10]
