Career

Early career

Lowe joined the Academy of Blackburn Rovers when he was 12 and had progressed to the Reserves when he signed his first professional contract with Blackburn on 4 September 2009. [2] He was set to join Aberdeen on loan in January 2011 before the deal fell through due to injuries in the Blackburn first team.[3]

Oldham Athletic

On 24 March 2011, Lowe was signed by Oldham Athletic on loan until the end of the season.[4] Lowe made his debut for Oldham against Tranmere Rovers.[5] Lowe scored his first goal for the club with a penalty in the 2-0 win against Notts County.[6] On 25 April 2011, Lowe scored late on to help Oldham secure a 1-1 draw with Walsall.[7] Lowe finished his loan spell having played seven games and scoring two goals.

Blackburn Rovers

On his return from loan Lowe would make his first re-appearance in a Blackburn shirt in the League Cup second round win against Sheffield Wednesday, this was followed by his first league appearance at Fulham on 11 September 2011. His first ever start in a Blackburn shirt came a week later in the Premier League as he started against Arsenal.

International career

Lowe made his international debut for England's under-20 team, playing against France in February 2011.[8] He was selected captain for England's under-20 team.
