Perrunichthys perruno is the only species of catfish (order Siluriformes) of the monotypic genus Perrunichthys of the family Pimelodidae.[1] This species reaches about 60 centimetres (24 in) TL and originates from the Lake Maracaibo basin.[2] This fish is occasionally known as the leopard catfish.[2]
