2Clix Software is a software developer in based in Australia. The name come from the company's philosophy that "Nothing should take more than 2 clicks to open"[1]
History
2Clix was founded in 1997 in in Australia, but they also have offices in the United Kingdom. The company's flagship product, 2Clix is a Business Management and Accounting suite.
Whirlpool controversy
Template:Ongoing lawsuit On September 12th, 2007, Whirlpool announced that its founder, Simon Wright, was being sued[2] by 2Clix for alleged defamation,[3] resulting in "a severe downturn in monthly sales"[4]. Specifically, 2Clix are claiming that comments on the Whirlpool Forums were 'False and Malicious'. 2Clix "quantifies its loss in income between January 2007 to July 2007 at approximately $150,000 per month" and is suing for $150,000 plus interest, plus legal costs[5]. The lawyer who drafted the law suit intended to sue for $150,000 per month, but a careful reading of the statement of claim reveals that they are only claiming a single figure of $150,000.
Whirlpool users have begun donating money to assist the site in its coming legal battle. Some users claim to have personally donated more than $1000 through Paypal[6] and the owner of PIPE Networks has personally pledged $10,000 to support whirlpool's cause[7].
