Parker McPhinney (born 21 November 1960; age 63) is the model and actress who appeared as the nude art class model in the opening scenes of the Star Trek: The Next Generation third season episode "A Matter of Perspective". She received no credit for this appearance and was the first model ever who appeared nude on television. [1]

McPhinney studied acting in the BFA theater performance program at the University of Memphis in the 1980s and is a member of Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). She is also a photographer, filmmaker, columnist, astrologer, and jewelry maker. As a model, she has posed for photographers and artists in the Los Angeles art world since 1986. The same year, she was also featured in the television drama Suicide: A Teenage Dilemma.

McPhinney created the three minute 16mm film Ritual which was selected for Long Beach Public Library's permanent avant-garde video collection. Her documentary Surrounded By Art can be found in libraries across the United States. [2] As a writer and columnist, McPhinney wrote for the Los Angeles Times and for the New York online magazine Art Net.
