Keith Robert Andreassi DeCandido (born 18 April 1969; age 55) is a writer who has written a great deal of Star Trek fiction. He has also done rewatches of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise on Reactor Magazine (formerly Tor.com). He has also been reviewing Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Short Treks, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Prodigy, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as new episodes are released for the same site.
DeCandido was born in New York City to parents who were both fans of Star Trek. He attended Fordham University in the city. He has written tie-ins to numerous other science fiction franchises including Alien, Andromeda, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CSI, Doctor Who, Dungeons and Dragons, Farscape, Orphan Black, Resident Evil, Serenity, Stargate SG-1, Supernatural, The X-Files, and more. He has also co-written work with John Gregory Betancourt and David Mack.
He has been nominated for two Scribe Awards for his Star Trek work, in 2008 for Q&A and 2010 for A Singular Destiny, and in 2009 was named a Scribe Grandmaster for his entire body of media tie-in work.
